Matt is an experienced executive with a proven track record in financial and accounting management, business planning, cash flow optimization, banking compliance and cost control.

Known for his creative yet disciplined approach to complex financial challenges, Matt combines innovative strategy with practical judgment to drive measurable results. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for building cohesive, high-performing finance teams and for translating financial insight into actionable executive decision-making. He brings this combination of analytical rigor and strong people leadership to Equitas as its Finance Advisor.

During his 32-year career at General Motors, Matt held senior leadership roles within the company’s global financial operations. He managed a worldwide team of senior financial analysts across China, Germany, Korea, Sweden, and the United States, and was responsible for capital project reviews presented to the GM Executive Committee and Board of Directors. He also led special initiatives assessing cost competitiveness and strategic financial positioning for senior leadership and the Managing Board.

Following his early retirement from GM, Matt continued in executive financial leadership roles, serving as Chief Financial Officer for a privately held mining operation in Florida; Director of Finance for a South Carolina-based manufacturing, engineering, and logistics services company supporting the automotive and aerospace sectors; and Director of Accounting for Perdue Foods. Most recently, he oversaw accounting operations across seven U.S. manufacturing facilities, ensuring financial discipline, compliance, and operational visibility across multi-state operations.

Matt holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Ashford University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Michigan.
