Marcus is a multidisciplinary producer, academic leader, and project strategist with more than two decades of experience across digital media, energy innovation, economic development, immersive learning, and digital twin technologies.
Known for building high-impact partnerships, he has supported over $50 million in multi-industry economic development initiatives and grant funding, advancing workforce development and emerging technology adoption across Louisiana.
As a Partner at Digital Twin Studios, Marcus leads transformative digital twin and immersive learning initiatives in collaboration with Meta Platforms and Unity Technologies. He played a central role in developing a virtual twin for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Solar Energy Lab, accelerating renewable energy research, predictive maintenance modeling, and educational outreach. He has also presented digital twin advancements to Sandia National Laboratories, demonstrating their application in energy research, facility optimization and advanced simulation environments.
Marcus has served as a key project manager and government liaison, helping position Louisiana as a national leader in immersive and real-time 3D (RT3D) technologies. Working closely with Louisiana Economic Development and Unity Technologies, he has supported statewide investments bringing RT3D training into classrooms to strengthen workforce pipelines. He has co-presented with Unity at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) conference and manages forward-looking initiatives such as virtual reality-based site selection platforms that bridge academia, industry and economic strategy.
In addition to his technology leadership, Marcus serves on the board of the Do It Greener Foundation, where he advances sustainability initiatives using digital twin applications to support environmental conservation and Gulf-region resilience. He has contributed to NOAA grant proposals and sustainability-focused research programs aimed at strengthening long-term environmental and infrastructure outcomes. Most recently, Marcus co-authored an award-winning proposal for the Gulf Futures Challenge, centered on transforming regional energy resilience and community development.
Marcus’ academic leadership includes serving as Chair of the Arts and Humanities Department at South Louisiana Community College, where he founded one of the nation’s first high-definition digital media production training programs. Under his leadership, the program secured over $1.8 million in federal funding to prepare students for high-demand careers in digital media and emerging technologies. As Faculty Senate President and Director of Special Media Projects, he helped shape innovation-driven academic strategies that continue to influence regional workforce development.
He holds dual Bachelor’s degrees in Communication and Theatre and a Master of Fine Arts in Performance Studies from Louisiana State University. He completed all doctoral coursework (ABD) in Communication and Media Studies as a Huel D. Perkins Doctoral Fellow.
