For over 30+ years, Amy has been active in the hospitality industry. Through sales, leadership, training, and organizational development, she champions the customer while keeping an eye on the big picture.
Amy understands the critical balance between technological advancement and meaningful human interaction. She has a strong ability to adapt organizational philosophy and culture to meet the demands of a changing global economy.
She began her career with Marriott International, where she gained extensive experience in sales, leadership, and training. Amy was selected to design and implement the training architecture and delivery platforms supporting Marriott’s global redeployment of its 8,000+ Sales Force and Event Management Division. Her work impacted employees from entry-level professionals to senior leadership across all brands and continents. She certified hundreds of facilitators worldwide and culturally adapted training programs for successful in-market delivery.
Her experience with Marriott and later with SMG (now ASM Global), the world’s largest facility and arena management company, gave her deep expertise in the hospitality and entertainment industries. Over 15+ years with SMG/ASM, Amy defined and implemented corporate culture initiatives, developed comprehensive learning curricula, clarified brand articulation, and helped standardize operating procedures for sales and event management teams globally. She worked closely with executives to align training, branding, and corporate culture with organizational strategy and was frequently featured in company training and brand media, as well as representing the organization at international conferences.
Amy has also collaborated with the College of Charleston’s School of Business and Economics. Her client portfolio includes JHM Hotels, Renaissance Hotels, Orient Express, Seabrook Island Club, Affiniti Golf, Gogogreens, Wild Dunes, Kiawah Island Golf Resort, The Dewberry, Verde, Condon Food Company, JMC Charleston, and others.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Amy is Criterion-Referenced Instruction certified in training architecture and curriculum development and is certified by the Emily Post Institute as an Instructor.
