Visual Identity Design

Lesley is a creative talent known for her energy and meticulous attention to detail. Her ability to distill complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives made her a natural fit for Equitas, where she helps to elevate solutions for products, people, and the planet.

In essence, all designers are tasked with solving problems. Lesley is a naturally gifted graphic designer whose talents stretch far beyond the norm, ascribing immense value to any project, team, or business she serves. Lesley’s natural propensity to quickly identify, grasp, and understand the problem, and to find a sophisticated, appropriate, and innovative solution, is a constant in her work. Her ability to work with the confusion of an idea and to clarify and unpack it into a transformational commercial solution across various applications is a standout trait.

Lesley started her career as an art director at Ogilvy Mather in Johannesburg. She later broadened her perspective at Trademark Design in Cape Town, South Africa, where she was mentored by the perceptive eye of Clive Gay, a design master known for his zero-compromise approach. She gained most of her experience in corporate and brand development when she joined their London office, where she worked with large corporations such as Sony Erikson, SmithKline Beecham, and British Airways.

On her return to South Africa, she became a Partner at Fountainhead in Cape Town. Since 2001, she has assumed her full-service design studio, working in brand identity and visual communication. There, she produces considered, conceptually driven work that comes from an intimate understanding of her clients and their audience’s needs.

She has continued her creative journey through work with international clients in the US, EU, Australia, UAE, Africa, and Singapore across diverse industries, from renewables and Blockchain to FMCG, retail, luxury goods, cosmetics, and CBD ranges, to Bitcoin start-ups and offshore real estate. Lesley has helped businesses of all sizes at different stages of their life cycles define their identity, brand strategy, and visual messaging, and present themselves clearly and effectively to their intended target market. Above all, Les delivers impactful, relevant solutions that resonate and endure.

Lesley earned her Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design at the Durban University of Technology in Durban, South Africa.
