Thomas draws on over two decades of leadership experience in the private and public sectors as a manager, business development executive, and entrepreneur.
His government client experience includes the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Chinese Customs Authority, Kenya’s Ministry of Defense, multiple U.S. state governments, and municipal governments in the Bahamas and Puerto Rico. He has partnered with senior government leaders on analysis, requirements definition, solution design, and the delivery of complex process and technology initiatives.
Thomas has founded and co-founded multiple small businesses and startups and has served advisory roles for other small businesses and organizations across various industries. In the private sector, Thomas has expertise and technology acumen in finance, accounting, and audit, supply chain management, operations management, and marketing communications in the nonprofit, health and wellness, hospitality, banking, travel and transportation, and pharmaceutical industries.
Prior to joining Equitas, he was a managing consultant and business development executive with IBM Global Business Services, living in Beijing and Washington, DC while supporting clients in 21 countries.
Following IBM, Thomas founded and scaled a health and wellness company in Charleston, South Carolina from inception to more than 6,000 customers and 15 employees before successfully exiting, and later co-founded a technology startup serving health, retail, and hospitality markets.
Thomas is a certified Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute, Newton Square, Pennsylvania, and a certified Supply Chain Management Professional through APICS organization, Chicago, Illinois. He is fluent in English and Spanish, and proficient in Simplified Chinese.
Thomas obtained his Bachelor of Science in International Business and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, and his Master of Business Administration in Finance from The Citadel Military College of South Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina.
